It is out. It arrived today in my mailbox. And although I have read it a thousand times before now, it still makes me feel exuberant.
Shuttle, Spindle and Dyepot, the magazine for Handweavers Guild of America (HGA), published my article.
There it is on page 34.
Starting on January 19, 2018, I began this blog to chronicle the amazing journey that changed my life. The journey changed my perspective on the world and myself. It kicked me into challenging my abilities as a weaver, a singer, and a writer.
For the first time, an experience that I cared enough about to write down has taken its place on a national stage. Admittedly, the audience is a niche audience. But my words are out there.
As excited as I am, I remember the lesson of Antarctica. I am insignificant. It is the world around me and all of its inhabitants that give me life.
I am humbled that I was chosen to tell the weaving part of this story. The rest you can find in the archives of Talkin’ to Myself.
With my undying gratitude to the Handweavers Guild of America, and everyone at Shuttle, Spindle and Dyepot especially the editor, Sally Orgren and her staff; Here is the final version of Weaving Antarctica.
Congratulations Gael! So happy for you.

It’s at the bottom of my piece. On my screen it is green. It is the very last line and says Weaving Antarctica. If you can’t get there let me know. I will try to send it to you by email.

WOW!!! She has some real vision! And talent! I need a machine to do the work for me, she uses her hands. So beautiful! Thank you for sharing them with me.

I have saved them all to my computer. May I use them in a story? Something is cooking in my brain as I saw them.
