Finally!!!! The last of the samples are off the loom. The best of the three will be sent to the Scottish Registry of Tartans to be kept in their archives. Edward Bransfield Commemorative Tartan and a brief synopsis of Edward Bransfield will have its place in history!
I have now begun weaving the scarves for the people who helped me in this project, namely, Jim Wilson and Ingrid Nixon.
I thank them and each and every member of the Remembering Edward Bransfield Committee for allowing me to be part of their wonderful project. It was an amazing learning experience for me. Not only did I learn a great deal about a great explorer, I learned about the most amazing place on our planet–Antarctica! On top of that, I learned about tartans, their history and how to weave them.
As Jim Wilson has taught me,

COOL!!!!!! Thank you, BA! Tartans are tuff little buggers. The wool likes to stick together. Simple twill done very slowly. I shall learn patience YET!
